BIG WALK Mirrored Stage Buttons: Convert Every Position

Number the seven audience controls, reverse the booth view horizontally, and press one confirmed position at a time.

Direct solution

At the dark stage south of Yellow Tower around 3410, 1590, put one player in the lit booth and one beside the seven audience buttons. Number the audience row 1-7 from the button player’s left. The booth view is horizontally mirrored, so convert positions as 1↔7, 2↔6, 3↔5, and 4↔4. The booth player signals the converted number with slow arm raises; the audience player repeats it, presses once, and waits for the next light. Never use the raw booth position without mirroring it.

Player-count plan

2 players

Use one player for each information or action side. The booth reader converts; the audience operator presses.

3-12 players

Keep the two core roles unchanged. Extra players should spot, carry, or record the current sequence without creating a second caller.

Common mistakes

  • Pressing the same position seen in the mirrored booth.
  • Numbering from opposite directions.
  • Sending several numbers without confirmation.
  • Double-pressing because the next cue is slow.

How to recover

  1. 1.Stop immediately after a rejected input.
  2. 2.Reconfirm which side is audience-left.
  3. 3.Convert the disputed position with the four-pair table.
  4. 4.Restart from the first active light if the sequence resets.
