BIG WALK Turnstile Symbol House: Build the Five-Symbol Code

Split clue-reader and builder roles, call the five symbols from left to right, choose the matching handled pieces, and submit the board.

Direct solution

Go to the blue turnstile house at about 3505, 1960, southwest of Blue Tower. Put one clue reader on the side that reveals the five-symbol target when the yellow turnstile is closed, and one builder beside the nine handled symbol pieces and five-slot board. The reader calls “slot 1” through “slot 5” from left to right; the builder finds each matching piece and places it in the same numbered board slot. Re-read all five positions, then press the green submit button once. If it rejects the answer, reopen or reset the turnstile, reveal the clue again, and compare from slot 1 instead of guessing which single piece is wrong.

Where to go

The puzzle house is at approximately 3505, 1960, just southwest of Blue Tower at about 3540, 1850. Look for a small blue building with two yellow turnstiles. One side contains nine handled symbol pieces and a horizontal five-slot board; the other side can see the five-symbol clue.

Before arranging pieces

  • Bring at least two players and keep one fixed clue reader and one fixed builder.
  • Agree that the clue is always numbered 1 to 5 from left to right; never use “this one” or screen-relative directions.
  • Do not memorize the sample symbols from a video—the target must be read from the current session.

Exact steps

Find the blue house at 3505, 1960

Travel southwest from Blue Tower and enter the small blue building with two yellow turnstiles. Stop before rotating either gate so both players can identify the clue and build sides.

One side has loose handled pieces and a five-slot plank; the opposite side is the clue-viewing position.

Leave the builder with the nine pieces

Keep the builder beside the 3-by-3 group of nine handled pieces and the five-slot board. Send the clue reader through or around the yellow turnstile to the viewing side.

The builder can reach all nine loose pieces without abandoning the board, and the reader is on the opposite side.

Close the turnstile to reveal five symbols

Rotate or close the turnstile until the reader can see the target row. The open state can look blank, so do not start calling symbols until all five are visible at once.

The reader sees one stable row of five target symbols and labels them slots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 from left to right.

Call and match one symbol at a time

The reader describes slot 1 first using shape, direction, and distinctive marks. The builder picks up pieces and looks at their faces until finding the exact match, then repeats for slots 2 through 5.

Each chosen piece is matched to a spoken slot number; no piece is selected only because it looks close from a distance.

Place the matches left to right

Insert the chosen pieces into the five board sockets in the same 1-to-5 order. Before submitting, the builder reads the board back from left to right while the reader checks the visible clue.

All five board slots are filled, and both players confirm that every position—not just every symbol—matches the clue.

  6. Completed five-symbol board and green indicator in the BIG WALK turnstile house

Press the green submit button once

After the read-back, press the green control beside the board. Do not mash it while rearranging pieces; wait for the puzzle response.

The indicator turns green and the puzzle completes. A rejection means the sequence or one symbol face still differs from the clue.

Player-count plan

2 players

Use one permanent reader and one permanent builder. The reader never leaves the clue, and the builder never changes the agreed left-to-right slot numbering.

3-4 players

Keep the same reader and builder; extras can repeat the callout, hold candidate pieces, or act as scribes. Higher host counts may scale targets, but the reveal-call-match-submit logic remains the same.

Common mistakes

  • Looking at the open turnstile, seeing a blank surface, and assuming the clue is missing.
  • Calling only symbol names without slot numbers, which lets the correct five pieces land in the wrong order.
  • Copying a fixed five-symbol code from another run instead of reading the current target.
  • Pressing submit before the reader and builder perform a left-to-right read-back.

How to recover

  1. 1.If no clue appears, rotate the yellow turnstile back to its closed viewing state and check the opposite side.
  2. 2.If a symbol description is ambiguous, have the builder hold each candidate close and describe its orientation or extra stroke back to the reader.
  3. 3.If submit rejects the board, reopen or reset the gate, reveal the full clue again, remove uncertain pieces, and re-check slots 1 through 5 in order.
